Meet GABRIEL
Gabriel Royce is no stranger to the Australian music landscape. As frontman, songwriter, and career multi-instrumentalist (drums, acoustic guitar, saxophone), Gabriel first captured international recognition as one half of indie-folk duo The Royce Twins following a viral audition that amassed tens of millions of views worldwide.
Together with his brother, Gabriel established serious independent songwriting credentials—scoring chart positions on the AIR Independent charts and earning multiple Semi-Finalist spots in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition (ISC).
Now, drawing on more than a decade of touring and live pub gigs across Australia, the Mount Beauty-born, Melbourne-based artist is stepping out on his own terms. Grounded in Australian heritage, inspired by modern country rock, and armed with a blistering live sound, “WANTED” marks the definitive arrival of Gabriel Royce as a solo force.

True country music has always lived in the grit of a telecaster, the thud of a kick drum, and the honest sweat of a crowded pub on a Saturday night. For Gabriel Royce, “WANTED” is the sound of tearing off the rear-view mirror and leaning headfirst into hard-driving, unapologetic country rock. Growing up in the rugged shadow of Victoria’s High Country in Mount Beauty and forged across a decade of relentless touring as one half of The Royce Twins, Gabriel is trading acoustic indie-folk harmonies for a sound with real dirt on its boots—delivering heavy, stadium-sized riffs backed by genuine live-band soul.
At the heart of the track is the kind of high-stakes, outlaw storytelling country fans know and respect: a reckless, neon-drenched Las Vegas elopement spiraling completely off the rails. Tracking the miles from the familiar salt air of St Kilda straight onto the blistering desert asphalt of Nevada, “WANTED” captures the adrenaline of pursuit, bad decisions made for honest love, and the wild romance of running toward danger with the pedal pinned to the floorboards. It’s an open-road anthem made for long drives, windows rolled down, and the stereo cranked all the way up.
Real country fans know you can’t fake tone, groove, or heart. Produced, mixed, and mastered alongside collaborator Matt Joyce, the track was cut with the live room in mind. Drawing on Gabriel’s bone-deep musicianship as a career multi-instrumentalist, “WANTED” marries big, anthemic hooks with the relentless, driving thump of heartland rock.
